Did you pick out your outfit for tomorrow........?

You hear this question a lot in our house.....especially if there is school the next day. That and "Do you have your homework done?" With two elementary school kids and a baby in the house, you really need to run this place like a boot camp.....you HAVE to or they will take over in a blink of the eye! Also, 'a place for everything and everything MUST be in it's place'. AND.....schedules, we MUST have schedules, I'm not saying that they always get followed but you have to at least give yourself a fighting chance by at least starting out with one. At least, convince the kids that there really IS a schedule and havoc will reign if not followed. Five minutes....yes, just five minutes late in doing anything on school mornings may cause for kids late for school and mommy late for work. Hence the rule of picking out your outfit the night before. And that means EVERYTHING.....from shoes up to the hair accessory on your head. If you have not picked it out the night before, you ain't wearing it....so the rule is, you better make sure the socks or tights go with the rest of the ensamble because you do not get to change your mind the next morning; no matter how much you cry, sulk or glare at Grandma. Save it cause Grandma ain't going to feel sorry for you.

When the girls are picking out their clothes for school, we encourage creativity as in anything that they do. Trinity isn't so fussy being more of the 'tom boy' type. However, she is extremely fussy about her pants; not the style or color but the way they fit. She does not like anything tight along her waist which makes the selection sort of limited. But we have managed to get her into some blue jeans which was sort of nice since up to that point she lived in 'cozy' pants....otherwise known as sweat pants. Madison is more of the 'adventurous' type when it comes to her wardrobe. Above is Madison on a recent day after she got dressed for school. I just had to grab my camera on this one. She thought (and of course, we totally agreed) that this outfit was one of the best yet. Note how the pink slipper shoes match perfectly with the teddy bear on the shirt. What an eye for color!! And if you look really close, that teddy bear has a red bow on its head.....hence, the red tights! And the crushed brown velvateen skirt! How glamorous is that! We can always count on Madison to throw caution to the wind on at least part of her outfit and she didn't let us down this early morning either.....the bright pink hair bow in her short cropped hair!

And, when she spins around in front of Grandma with that smile on her face and asked "How, do you like my outfit today Grandma?"  I smile back and say "Of course Madison, you are just beautiful and you're going to really light up the school halls today!"
