I remember when Lexi was born and she had this most beautiful crop of curls on the top of her head....tiny little curls on a tiny little head. Well, now at a little over 10 months of age, those cute little curls have grown into this mass of bigger curls with a mind of their own. Now, you would think by looking at this mop that she has this long hair all over her head.....NOT! She is almost bald in the back of her head (we figure from being a back sleep from day one of her life). There are a few long curls right behind her ears (odd enough, longer than the hair over her ears), more on the sides of her face and right on top of her head as you can see but other than that, it is short and cropped close to her head. That makes this photo very deceiving.
We usually try to keep her hair out and away from her face for several reasons like being able to see her face and preventing it from getting in the way when she eats and when yer nose is running...YUK! But, it's starting to get a little harder and we may also have to get her some cream rinse because of the static in this hair flying around. Now that she is crawling around and sleeping more on her tummy, maybe the hair in the back will start to grow.....but, what do we do with the rest of it? I know it's always traumatic for mothers to give their babies that 'first' haircut but I think this calls for drastic measures! Just a slight trim, not much....just a little 'shaping' on the top and sides. Actually, on some days, it's more 'kinked' than curled and I think it would help to get those curls to bounce back a little.
But, who am I.....just Grandma!
