A while ago I reported that something or somebody was snipping off the tops of our baby trees. Well, we now know who it was. One morning while I was looking out the kitchen window enjoying bird watching, I noticed something out of the corner of my eye. Hop, hop, hop! A cute little rabbit came hopping into our yard. What a nice surprise; just another one of God's creatures to add to our tiny piece of wilderness. But it was short-lived. The little 'vermin' hopped over to my baby lilac tree and started nibbling off the top. I was livid! I screamed for Grandpa. He scrambled out to the deck, picked up a small ball and threw it at the rabbit. The rabbit moved a little.....just a little....needless to say, he wasn't too scared but we got him to stop nibbling on our lilac bush. NOW we knew who had been biting off the tops of our trees and we needed to take action. So, off to Home Depot we went for wire fencing. Now all of our baby trees are safe!!! Take that.....rabbit!!
