Boys & Girls Clubs Offer Exciting Ways to Spend the Summer
Summer vacation for local students is in full swing, and many will be taking advantage of the offerings put forth by the branches of the Boys & Girls Club of the Smoky Mountains.
The Gatlinburg, Kodak, Pigeon Forge, Sevierville and Seymour branches are open at 7 a.m. each day to welcome children and don’t send the last child home until 6 p.m. Five days a week they offer shelter, companionship and all sorts of opportunities to help fill the hours of the summer days.
“We offer breakfast and lunch and we have all kinds of activities going on,” said Mark Ross, chief professional officer for the organization. “Some of the activities differ by branch, but for the most part they’re very similar.”
Trinity and Madison attend the Boys and Girls Club in Pigeon Forge all day during the summer months in addition to after school during the school year. They offer so much to the kids including help with their homework, being part of Dancing Divas and Dudes dance group, field trips, organized sports. They keep the kids BUSY and ACTIVE. This is one organization that has my total support and I do not hesitate to donate what I can. Since their mother has to work full time, the Boys and Girls Club has been a lifesaver in the area of child care for the older girls.
Thank you Pigeon Forge Boys and Girls Club! Trinity and Madison Smith's Grandmother
