When we moved to Tennessee, I wanted to bring something with us from our backyard in Milwaukee that remind us of our first home. So, I harvested a mess of four o'clock seeds from the plants we had in the backyard of our house all the years that we lived there. They would come up every year, drop their seeds and replant themselves for the next year. I figured that would be a great memory to have in Tennessee.
Like in Milwaukee, I planted the seeds on the sides of our air conditioning unit in our new home. I really was not sure if they were going to make it so you can imagine how delighted I am when they started to come up! Now, I kept trying to get a photo of them blooming but for some reason, I'm always out there with my camera at the wrong time. I asked Grandpa if he notice when they bloom and he simply replies "Four o'clock in the afternoon".....well, dah! I tried being out there at that time with no success....then again, is that Milwaukee time or Tennessee time? Whatever!! If I happen to catch them blooming I will snap a photo and post it. But, until then....like I said, I'm just so happy they came up and we were able to bring a little bit of Milwaukee with us to Tennessee.
Four O Clocks! Love them and remember them from growing up. What a great idea to bring the seeds with you. If you have extras, save me some. I'd like to try them in Georgia!
