In the first row we find the fashionable pink and zebra-striped sandals. The next pair of pink dress shoes actually were purchased by Grandpa a couple of years ago. We were shopping up north in Wisconsin and he spotted them on sale in, I think, a Pamida store. Well, with Isabelle and another granddaughter on the way, he could not pass them up. One of them would be able to wear them. Unfortunately, they were too small for Izzy and Lexi has such a high instep (fat foot), it doesn't look like she will be able to wear them either. They just have a nice 'history' since Grandpa bought them, we had to include them. Next are a pair of shoes that, as you can see, Lexi wore out on the toes because she was wearing theses when she was crawling.
Row two brings us two pair of sandals and a pair of crocs. Anita decided that Lexi needed a little 'bling'....hence, the white ones. In addition Anita gifted Lexi with her first pair of crocs. She LOVES to wear these. Anita's thinking....if everyone else is wearing crocs, why shouldn't Lexi?
The third row includes two pair of tennis shoes and her 'water' shoes. The first pair was her first and she has outgrown; she is now in the second pair. As for the water shoes, these came in handy when Lexi was playing in the pool (prevent slipping and sliding) and when Anita took her to Splash Country.
Finally, we have two pair of boots which she will hopefully be able to wear this upcoming winter season; of course, bought in advance by Anita.
This isn't all of the many pairs of shoes Lexi has accumulated by the age of 18 months. She had many others that she outgrew and were donated or given away. There might even be a few pairs that Shelly has stashed away because she couldn't part with them.....like her very first pair.
Lexi not only has a lot of shoes, herself, but she loves to try on EVERYBODY else's shoes. It's not unusual to see her clunking around the house with one or two of somebody's shoes. And, she KNOWS what shoes belong to whom. If you ask her to bring you your shoes, she will track them down and she will deliver them on the floor right in front of you and will watch to make sure you put them on.
Now, if Lexi only had a big enough closet to hold all of her shoes!
