The very next day, it was like a 'rerun' of the night before. I got up at around 1:00 a.m. and there she was again. Charlotte had built her huge web again and was sitting in the middle waiting for her prey. After the first time, I figure....hey, why bother her. Even though she was sort of scary to look at, she was outside and not really bothering us so what the heck!
Grandpa got up at 4:00 a.m. and he saw her too but also left her alone.
However, at 6:00 a.m. (just 2 hours later), POOF, Charlotte was gone again! Her web completely taken apart and no sign whatsoever of her visit. I even opened the door, went outside and looked on the side of the house around the patio door but found no evidence of Charlotte. At this point, I was actually getting used to her and looked for her the next morning....
But, she was not there and hasn't come back again since the second time. Who knows? Maybe she'll come back or maybe she found a better spot to spin her web. Whatever the reason, she gave us a couple of days of excitement and entertainment.
Who would have thought a spider, of all creepy things, could do that?
