I think these snapshots are sort of appropriate considering we are just around the corner of Halloween. I was sitting on our porch when, for some reason, I looked left and spotted this acrophobia critter hanging from the corner of our house. Upon a closer look, I realized that this was no ordinary spider.....it was UGLY!! And, it had spun a web from the top of our house down to the bushes. Also, he had managed to catch his next meal and had spun it up but good. In fact, if you looked really close (well, as close as I wanted to get), you could see his catch still moving!!
Needless to say.......action needed to be taken. This could not just hang around out there....I mean, who's to say that as one of us is going in and out the door, it couldn't sneak in. And then after that thought, the mind takes it further and starts thinking of it getting me while I'm asleep!! It needed to be eradicated NOW, the sooner, the better......well, at least after I took a few photos. I'm a 'blogger'; therefore, I never pass up a chance for a good photo. Our neighbors are used to seeing me running around outside taking pictures. What they think about it, I'm not sure I want to know. Anyways.....
After taking the pictures, I headed into the house to find some bug killing stuff and came back out armed with a big spray can. Grandpa, who was watching all of this, was not sure what I had was for spiders but I assured him that there was a picture of a spider on the can and that was good enough for me. So, I walked up took, aim and sprayed.....and the little bugger started back up higher in its web so I sprayed again and it fell a little. I sprayed it again and it fell into the bushes. Well, by that time, I was practically choking on all the spray floating around and the spider was now in the bushes probably laughing his head off because I doubt that I had killed it, much less, even touch it!
Well, we knocked down the web (probably as he watched) and figured he wouldn't be back since his web was gone. Yeah, right.....remember my post about Charlotte? This one too, is still out there and will just build a new web and live on. As for me, I'm getting bigger bug sprayer or better yet, a gun.
