Being the sister of a breast cancer survivor, I am very aware of the importance of detecting breast cancer early. I, myself, do not skip my yearly mammogram and never will. Also, our daughters, Michele and Rebecca are heading towards the age of 40 and you can be darn sure I will be on their cases to get their first mammogram when they hit the big 4-0!
Take the time to ask your friends and family members if they have had their routine mammogram or even if they ever had one at all. If not, ask them why not. Tell them it's not the most terrible experience and these days, they are even making the test available free in some areas.....so not having health insurance is no longer an excuse.
And don't forget those self-checks. It cannot be emphasized enough......
EARLY DETECTION
