Ewwwwwww........

Yep, it's that time of the year again; time for the earwigs to make their appearance. I hate these things. Granted, they are not that big (thank goodness not as big as the picture above), but they are just creepy looking and you just never know when they cross your path. Like the other day when I was in the garage and just picked up a toy off the garage floor.....zoom....off one went. But, I got him!! That's another bad thing about them; when you step on them, they crunch. Yuk! Centipedes rank right up there with the earwigs but at least they don't snap, crackle and pop when you step on them. Not only that, look at those pinchers! They are ugly and looks to me like they could do some damage if the thing got aggravated.

My first adventure into 'earwig land' was years ago when I was painting our garage in Milwaukee. All of a sudden thousands (well maybe somewhere closer to a hundred) came scurrying out from under the siding. Guess I got too close to their home and they didn't like it. Well, that was enough for me to throw the paint brush down and call it a day. I don't recall if I finished painting the garage but I probably turned the job over to Grandpa.

I don't know why, but I thought down here in Tennessee, we would have different bugs. I thought maybe we would find nicer bugs. I mean the people are nicer down here; wouldn't the bugs be nicer too. Not! The centipedes are just as big and with as many legs as the ones in the Midwest. And, the earwigs are as nasty.

So much for that thought.......
