This is John, our 7 year-old grandson. John has always held a special place in my heart; probably because he is the only boy in the crew of five grandchildren. I grew up with two sisters, raised two daughters who had four girls between them so it was really nice when John came along. Boys are definitely different than girls but I love the fact that I get to watch a little boy grow up along with all the girls. I always like to kid him by saying "How's my favorite grandson?" and he's quick to come back "Grandma, I'm you ONLY grandson". It never gets old.
In June John and the rest of his family will be down here in Tennessee for a week to visit and spend their vacation. I can't wait to give this 'little man' a hug along with his younger sister, Isabelle. I have marked off the entire week when they will be visiting. No quilt meetings, quilt classes, doctor appointments.....nothing! I even bought a new swimsuit so I can go swimming with them....now, THAT was a big step for me. But, I don't want to miss one minute of fun in the sun with them!
