Harvesting the Garden

The raspberry patch. They are coming so fast that we have to pick them almost every day....not complaining though. Lexi LOVES them, unlike her older sisters who won't even taste them. Oh, and Jack, the dog, likes them too. Unfortunately, when he's out there playing he likes to snack on them. He even ate the bottom of our first yellow tomato and got Grandpa's first strawberry (he has those growing on the deck). Grandpa ain't too happy with him!

Tomatoes on left with tall sunflowers in back; cucumbers on the right. There are also snap peas between the tomatoes and sunflowers.

Gladiolas in the front with green beans behind.

Vegetable harvest!! I swear the cucumbers grow overnight; and, hide so well, that they are easy to miss and they just get bigger and bigger. I like them when they are smaller and crispy. Shelly loves eating the pea pods right out of the garden. She and Becky used to do that when they were younger and we had our garden in Milwaukee. She says it's like eating "sunshine".

I have to say, compared to last year, our garden is a real success this year. Can't wait for the tomatoes to really start coming!

  1. What a beautiful garden. I'm getting tomatoes but not cucumbers! Oh those raspberries look so GOOD.
