Goodbye Summer.....Fall Hurry Up!

I am so over it! Summer, that is.

I'm over the heat and humidity. I'm not fond of air conditioning inside, but then again, it's better than sweating outside. Because of the heat, it's seems colder in the house with the air conditioning running so I'm wearing long sleeves and sweat pants inside and then go outside and die unless I change by clothes first. I'm sure our neighbors think I'm nuts when they see me out there bundled up in 90 degree weather. Then again I can't look any worse than the neighbor guy who thinks he's God's gift to women and runs around outside with his shirt off. Pa....lease!

I'm tired of swatting mosquitoes. I have a very low tolerance for 'itching' so when I see the first one in the afternoon or evening, I'm in the house in seconds. Don't need to get bit....have not found an anti-itch product on the store shelves that works on me so I avoid the insects at all times. The only
thing that made mosquitoes even tolerable is the bug zappers that Grandpa bought. They look like a small tennis racquet and I have to admit that it is very entertaining listening to them getting zapped and sizzled.

Then there's the fleas. They have been just horrible this summer. Our poor dogs, Jack and Snickers (who unfortunately went to 'doggy heaven' two weeks ago) have been infested with them even though we have used the products they have on the market....from medicine squirted on their backs to flea collars and flea baths. Grandpa has even sprayed the front yard which does no good since Jack is an invisible fence dog and ALL over the property. So far, I think we have been successful from them infesting the house but the season is not over yet. If we need to bomb the house, it could be deadly to Grandpa's tropical fish tanks and he would not be a happy camper. Hopefully, it will not come to that.

When I started this post, the weather was still hot and humid. I'm happy to say that we can feel Autumn in the air. Yesterday I took Trinity and Madison shopping for pumpkins, gourds and mum plants to build our harvest display in the front yard. I was also at Walmart yesterday and bought a bright, colorful wreath for the front of our house and a bale of straw to add to our display. I've started going through the storage boxes in the garage and pulling the Halloween and Harvest decorations out and am heading to the shed to find our missing scarecrows.

Yes, I am ready for a change.....it has been a very long summer for many reasons and 'new beginning' sounds pretty good to me.
