Saving Rain to Water the Gardens

 

Grandpa set up and connected rain barrels to the gutters in the back of the house. The first day it rained, one was completely full and the other half way. We hope to keep our gardens hydrated during the hot, hot summer months.....saving on the monthly water bill. A lot of people make use of the down here so we thought we would give it a try. And, they are actually very attractive.

Note:  See that green algae growing on the back of our house. It's a real problem down here on the north side of buildings. It made me nuts so Grandpa got a new toy.....a power washer. I'll keep you posted how that works out.
