before......
and after.
As many of you know from a previous post, I was traumatized when while pulling out of our driveway, our brick mailbox jumped out and slammed my car. By the time I pulled forward again and got out of the car to see what happened, the mailbox was back in its spot looking as innocent as ever. He gave himself a little chip off of his bricks. He gave my car $1,500 worth of damage! Our insurance company considered it a 'collision' so they said that they needed to send a claim adjuster out to investigate it. What? Were they going to interview Mr. Mailbox? I thought well good luck to you because Mr. Mailbox ain't talking. Well, they finally decided that with the small claim amount (gee, what's a big claim?) that it could be handled over the phone which to us made more sense.
We took my car into our local Chevy body shop to be fixed and was told it would be ready in three days. Now, if there is one thing we have learned since moving down here is that people don't do things fast. So one week and three days later, we got it back! We weren't too concerned about the wait because we do have another vehicle to use but geese....we were wondering if we were ever going to get it back.
They did a fantastic job; looks like new! We have a $500 deductible; a bill of which I have forwarded to Mr. Mailbox who has informed us that a check is in the mail. I'm not holding my breath!
