Trinity, 9 is starting 4th grade and Madison, who turns 8 next month is heading into 3rd grade. And of course it wouldn't be the first day of school without new outfits and hairdos.
Yesterday was the first day of school for the girls and a 'big wig' meeting for mom at work so everyone looked very nice walking out the door in the morning. Even though Trinity and Madison have been in school for quite some time and have had many 'first days', they were nervous on the ride there. But they weren't alone. Actually, the night before the girls should have been at their daddy's house (visitation arrangement) but Shelly has NEVER missed a first day of school with the girls and was a bundle of nerves thinking she might be this year. Well, Andrew, their daddy, understood and the girls were with us the night before and morning of and Shelly couldn't have been happier. Me too......I got to do manicures! Trinity chose blue and Madison, red.
Note: I just want to make a quick statement about Andrew. Shelly and Andrew should write a book on how to navigate and handle THE friendly divorce. The girls have ALWAYS come first with them which, in any divorce with kids, makes everything easier all around. In addition, Shelly and Andrew have found their way to being good friends which is also beneficial for the girls.
