And this is not just another ordinary road....it's Hwy 441 through the Smoky Mountains....it's our route to Harrah's Casino in South Carolina and us with a complimentary two-day stay coming up starting on Sunday. Well.....when Grandpa heard about and saw this, he frantically started pulling out maps to check on alternate routes. He was going to FIND another way to get there even if it meant spending 3 hours in the car to get there. As for me, we could have cancelled as far as I was concerned....although....I have to admit, it is nice to get away for a while. Anyways, Grandpa found a new route and the way he tells it, it's only going to take about 15 minutes longer. We'll see.
All kidding aside, this is a terrible thing. It will take a very long time to put this road back together again, but first they have to wait until it stops raining which it's still doing heavily right now and forecasted to change to snow. Schools are already planning on closing early today and who knows if they will be open tomorrow.
All I know is if we get snow, we sold our snow shovel before we left Wisconsin so there'll be no shoveling going on at this house. We'll just sit tight and wait it out to melt.
