Lexi's Playhouse
With Lexi being 2 1/2 years of age and the nice weather being here, she wants to play outside like her sisters. So Shelly had to figure out how to keep her in the yard since it is not fenced in. First she was thinking of a swing set. But after watching Lexi spending so much time on the deck playing with her kitchen and sandbox, the idea of a playhouse came up. In addition our deck was getting a little crowded now that the planters (pots) are starting to be set up.
Grandpa, who is our official internet surfer and bargain hunter, went looking for a playhouse. He and Shelly found one that her kitchen would fit into since she loves to play with that so much. So, Shelly decided to make the investment and Grandpa got the job of putting it together (actually he loved it).
Now this not just any ordinary playhouse. It has a working doorbell, two bay windows, one window with shutters and window boxes. Grandpa added an address and 'twirly' while I added flowers to the window boxes and stepping stones from our old house in Milwaukee. Her kitchen is inside with her sandbox outside. Oh, and Lexi moved her lawn chair in and I supplied her with a fly swatter since she HATES bugs! Most importantly, we can sit on our deck and keep an eye on Lexi in case she decides to wonder off.
All in all, we've had fun adding the playhouse to our backyard and am looking forward to watching Lexi and her sisters enjoy it!!
P.S. We may have to paint Grandpa's shed (Man Cave) which now looks a little shabby behind the new playhouse!
